A voluntary service is a year for personal orientation and individual development. It offers the opportunity to engage socially and thus make an important contribution to society. Volunteers get to know professional fields, discover their own abilities, further their education and experience community. In Germany, the following programs are available:

  • the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ - Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr) and
  • the Federal Voluntary Service (BFD - Bundesfreiwilligendienst)

Our seven member organizations can help - they act as providers for the Paritätische in Baden-Württemberg and offer voluntary services. They support around 3,000 participants per year. They know where volunteers can get involved, what to expect and how best to apply:

The Paritätische voluntary services stand for diversity, openness, equality, tolerance and respect. They have many placement organizations in their portfolio - for example daycare centers, schools, nursing homes, youth clubs, hospitals, migrant organizations and much more. You can find available positions near you via the placement database.

Applications are possible year-round. The required documents are listed on the respective provider's homepage. In an interview, the expectations of the placement organization and the applicant are clarified. Of course, applicants also learn more about the activities, support and seminars. The acceptance is followed by a written agreement ("contract").
